The evening will be a double bill performance consisCng of two pieces “Brighton Boys-work in progress” and “Essendo” where the arCsts will use movement and music in different ways to express themselves.
Brighton boys-work in progress
1950. On the sunny Brighton Beach at the Japanese East Coast, the water is warm, and the work is grey. Simon gets pregnant, but the mermaid is nowhere to be found. Can he be a mother without her? And will Paul From Work sCll want to dance with him at the annual Tropicana Party?
Brighton Boys is a dance theatre story of love, distance, family and the struggle to be a real human in a sea of piña colada.
Performing: Det Fynske Dansekompagni Choreography: Marie Keiser-Nielsen
Essendo (in Italian being, the gerund of the verb to be) is a duet where the performers meet in a conCnuous dialogue.
The piece tries to show honesty towards the self in a journey where vulnerability is embraced, and not refrained from. If we forego self-judgment and strip ourselves from our ideas of the future, can we allow a moment to rise and fall to its own accord and simply be?
Concept and dancer: Giorgia Reitani
Live music and voice: Abraham Rademacher
Both performances are 20 minutes ca. and are aimed for an audience of young people and adults from the age of 14
Billetter: 70 Kr.
